Susan Gravette, LMFT

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist  |  MFC46508

My personal goal as a therapist is to empower my clients to live the lives they value. My therapeutic approach encourages awareness of how our thoughts affect our feelings, helps people see how their past impacts their present and future, and assists families in becoming more connected. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families utilizing a combination of holistic therapies and strategies to help them find healing and wholeness.

I have extensive experience helping people dealing with eating disorders in the outpatient, intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization levels of care. As part of my work with people struggling with eating disorders, I am trained in several evidenced-based treatment models including Family-Based Treatment of Eating Disorders (FBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I provide assessment and consultation for families navigating the eating disorder treatment process and assist them in obtaining the correct level of care for their loved one. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a powerful tool for helping heal trauma. Additionally, I am a TBRI® Practitioner and I work with families who are fostering or have adopted to heal trauma and build attachment so every member of their family can thrive. My work regularly offers me the opportunity to provide education and training in our community on topics related to eating disorders, trauma, foster care and adoption.

I received my Master’s in Marital and Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary School of Psychology in Pasadena, California in 2006 and my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington in 2001. I am a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), The International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP), and The EMDR International Association (EMDRIA).
