Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist | MFC95743
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and work in treating eating disorders at an outpatient level of care. I have worked in treating eating disorders at an intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization levels of care in the past. I utilize other professionals in the community as a multidisciplinary team in order to better treat individuals suffering from eating disorders. In addition to eating disorders I work with children, adolescents, and adults in individual therapy working in areas of depression, anxiety, abuse, grief, trauma, and self-injurious behaviors. I also work with couples in marriage and family counseling to identify problems and resolve conflict to improve their relationship.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and incorporate it in my work with individuals. I have lead groups focusing on evidence-based treatments using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2005 and a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University in 2009. Since graduating I have remained in the field of clinical psychology working in a psychiatric hospital treating individuals suffering from severe depression and mental illness in Torrance, CA, in government funded facilities referred through California Victims of Crime in Los Angeles, and in Dual Diagnosis programs at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Los Angeles. I have also worked with individuals, and their families, with developmental disabilities in the central valley.
