Please read below for a list of common questions to help you understand and navigate our therapy process.

  • What can I expect from my first session?
Prior to your first session, your therapist will reach out to let you know of any paperwork or other information they need you to bring to your session. Fees for session are due at the start of the session unless otherwise agreed upon with your therapist. When you arrive, you can find a seat in our waiting area. Restrooms are conveniently located inside our suite on both sides of the office just past the waiting area on left or to the right past the stairs. Please make yourself comfortable in the waiting area and your therapist will greet you when your session is set to start. A traditional therapy session is 50 minutes in length. The first session is designed to help you and your therapist get to know one another and help determine whether or not they are the right fit for you. This is an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about therapy, what to expect, and to get to know your therapist and her/his therapy style. At the end of this session, you and your therapist will determine whether or not to move forward with therapy and will establish a schedule for upcoming sessions.
  • How do I know which therapist will be a good fit for me?
Choosing a therapist can be a process. Each clinician in the Resilience Counseling Group is unique in their areas of expertise, training, and personality. A great place to start is our Therapists Page where you view and click through to learn about each of the therapists in our office. After reading the biographies of each therapist, feel free to reach out to the person(s) you feel might be a good fit for you. Each of our therapists can be reached directly at the phone number or email listed on their bio page. If after meeting with one of us you do not feel it was a good fit, we will be happy to help you find someone within our group who would better suit your needs, or assist you in making referrals to clinicians in our community who can best help you.
  • What is the cost of therapy per session?
Please see each therapist’s individual page for a list of session fees. Fees range from $100-$150 and some of our clinicians offer a sliding scale for reduced fees.
  • Do you accept insurance?
We do not accept insurance. However, we are able to provide you with a Super Bill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. For specific details on your out-of-network benefits, you will need to contact your insurance company directly yourself.
  • How long does the therapy process take? When will I know I’m done?
The length of time a person needs to be in therapy is as unique as each individual person. Some issues can require short-term, brief interventions, but other issues can require a more long-term approach. Your therapist can help answer these questions after your initial session to give you a better idea of what to expect. Therapy is a collaborative process and your therapist will also regularly check in with you to make sure you are getting the most out of therapy and to periodically evaluate the process to determine an appropriate time to end services.
