Resilience Therapy Collective

-
Can I refer a friend to join?-At this time we are not taking referrals, but you will be notified when/if that changes.
-
I am a supervisor. Will my Associates be a part of the group if I join?-No. You are joining on your own. Your Associates are not automatically included.
-
How long is membership active?-Your membership is active a year from the date you join. A 30 day notice is required to unenroll or re-enroll upon the year. Our hope is that you will want to join for life!
-
Can membership be revoked?-Yes. We have high standards for ourselves and our members. If a member violates the agreed-upon standards their membership will be revoked. Our hope is that members take seriously their role as therapists and understand the unique responsibility of treating clients with trauma.
-
Will consultation only be about EMDR?-No. Consultation will be focused on any topics relevant to practicing therapy and will often include EMDR as that is our through line. These consultation groups do not count toward certification in EMDR.
-
Who will facilitate consultation groups? Will I know ahead of time?-One of the 4 original members of the Resilience Counseling Group will be present to facilitate each consultation group. The facilitator will be listed in the sign up, but could change as life happens.
-
What will the networking and other professional development opportunities be?-Networking will happen naturally in consultation as you get to know other members of The Collective and hear about the work they do. Professional development will be offered as we share our expertise in consultation and there may be times when workshops or groups are offered that focus on specific topics facilitated by our members or those in our community we feel would benefit the group.
-
Is consultation required?-No, but it is at the heart of what we do. You will get out of this what you put into it. Consultation is where our community is built.
-
Why am I required to be in therapy or have a therapeutic mentor?-Therapists should be clients, too. Our personal development is embedded in our professional development. Our clients deserve the best.
-
I am not Certified in EMDR. How long do I have to complete my certification?-2 years.
-
My therapist is an EMDR practitioner, too. How will you avoid dual relationships?-We understand that we live in an area where dual relationships can be hard to avoid, especially when you have a speciality like EMDR. However; it is our aim to have clear and professional boundaries at all times. We expect that our members will do the same. If you find that your therapist or client is a part of the Collective, we expect you to work together to create safety for both yourself and the other person. Should you need support in doing this, our team is happy to help provide consultation.
-
Why does the collective charge a fee?Entry fees cover the cost of initial set up and marketing. Monthly dues cover these ongoing costs (such as social get togethers) as well as our team’s time and expertise. The fee is an investment that encourages members to attend the ongoing consultation groups. In this way, we can all expect our time together to be well attended.
